Home » Jever Fun Pilsner

In this review, we try out Jever Fun – a non alcoholic Pilsener, an imported premium beer brewed in Germany.

Although it clearly states “Non-Alcoholic” on the front of the bottle, the alcohol content for this Jever Fun stands at 0.3%. Although confusing, this is entirely legal due to the naming legislation between non-alcoholic and low alcoholic drinks.

In fact, Jever Fun, is the non-alcoholic attempt of the popular alcoholic Jever Pilsener. The original Jever Pilsener has an ABV of 4.9%, and although there is a large difference in the alcohol content, the brewing process is not too dissimilar. In this case, the original Pilsener is brewed, before the alcohol is removed from the beer, creating a beer.

In any case, let’s get into it.

Jever Fun Initial Review

Taking the lid off the 330mL bottle I have had chilling in the fridge, the initial aroma is characteristic of Pilsener, but not too strong. It lacks any unique characteristics of the full-strength alternative and is neither impressive or offensive.

Pouring into a small glass, you are greeted with your typical light amber, with very little head once rested.

On initial taste, it is quite light, with a slight fizz from the carbonation.

Initial taste of the Jever Fun is good, but nothing too exciting. Drinking a full bottle feels very much like drinking a generic alcoholic lager, but one that gets bitter the more you drink it.

However, on a hot day like it is today, a single, chilled bottle was a refreshing evening treat.

Jever Fun 330ml Bottle

For this review, I drank from a 330mL glass bottle, that was purchased as part of a mixed case order from HonestBrew.

The bottle is fairly non-descript, and looks very similar to the full strength version. To anybody that didn’t know otherwise, it would look like a typical alcoholic lager bottle!
